Dr. Kelley Kurtz, DVM

Dr. Kurtz grew up in Fayetteville, Texas, and attended Texas A&M for undergraduate and veterinary school. After working for a few years in New Jersey, she returned to Texas to join Briargrove Animal Clinic in 2011. Dr. Kurtz's veterinary interests include surgery, client education, and preventive medicine. In her free time, she enjoys playing golf, visiting her family's ranch in Fayetteville, and spending time with her husband, children, and Rocky, the family Kangal.

Dr. Charlotte Broussard, DVM

Dr. Broussard hails from Houston. After graduating from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006, Charlotte moved to Los Angeles for a surgical and medical internship at California Animal Hospital. As an associate veterinarian at Hermosa Animal Hospital in the South Bay of Los Angeles, Dr. Broussard devoted eleven years to her patients and clients. She is glad to rejoin her native Texans as a part of the Briargrove Animal Clinic team.  

Dr. Amanda Taylor, DVM

Dr. Taylor grew up in Albuquerque and then moved to Texas to study Marine Biology at Texas A&M University at Galveston, where she graduated with honors and a Bachelor of Science degree in 2007. She later graduated from England's prestigious Royal Veterinary College as a DVM. Dr. Taylor, her husband, and two children moved back to Houston where they welcomed the arrival of their third child.

Dr. Carol Ong, DVM

Dr Carol Ong is a native Texas and a 1980 graduate of Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. She has two children; her daughter is also a veterinarian and her son is a computer software engineer. She has two rescue dogs, Cassie and Dusty, and several rescued cats.

Kathy Massey

Kathy was born in Houston at the Heights Hospital. She lived in San Francisco for awhile, where she worked at the Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum. She also paid many a visit to the wine country. Later she moved back to Houston to be with her family and was referred to Briargrove in 1995 by Dr. Smith's rotary friend. Kathy enjoys sailing, gardening, a healthy glass of wine, and her pets Bird, Stevie, and Rosie.

Ray Rocha

Ray, a Houston native, joined Briargrove in 1993 and loves working with the animals, educating clients, performing laboratory tests, and the people he works with. His hobbies include his aquarium and fish, cars, saltwater fishing, gardening and landscaping, and pet sitting.

Miguel Martinez

Miguel is from Houston and has been with Briargrove since 2006. At the clinic he enjoys assisting during surgeries, dentals, and monitoring and treating hospitalized cases. In his spare time he likes to golf, go to the shooting range, follow baseball and football, playing guitar and drums, and boxing. He lives with his wife, Jennifer, and his dog, a boxer named Duke.

Heather Mistic

Heather grew up in CA and moved to TX in 1996 to raise her family. She has 4 adult children (2 boys and 2 girls) and 1 new grandbaby! Early in life, Heather developed a passion for animals and nature that carried on into adulthood. Since joining the team at Briargrove, it’s not uncommon to see her with a kitten or puppy! Heather enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.

Desireé Thomas

Desireé earned her BS at Texas A&M Prairie View University. She enjoys caring for animals, assisting during surgery, and learning about dog behavior. Her hobbies include spending time with her son Kalix, playing sports, and just enjoying life.

Sherly Ramos

Sherly was born and raised in Houston, and has been a member of the Briargrove team since 2014. She is passionate about helping animals and loves to travel with her two precious Yorkies, Milo and Mina.

Chloe Ham

Cloe was born in Baytown and raised in Houston. She started in the veterinary field during her senior year of high school. She enjoys spending time with her Husky, Athena, and just enjoying life. Her biggest desire is to travel the world.

Raquel Molina

Raquel Molina is a native Houstonian. She spent 6 years as a cake decorator before her love of animals caused her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. She is currently enrolled in college pursuing a degree in veterinary technical degree. In her free time, she likes to hang out with her dogs and cat and play video games. 

Destiny Provost

Destiny has spent time in the veterinary field since her sophomore year of high school. She is currently attending college for her veterinary technician license. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her family and ride horses with her mom. 

Gena Zglinski

Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Gena came out of her retirement from a 30 year career as a legal secretary at an oil and gas law firm to pursue her passion in working with animals. In her spare time she trains and competes in dog agility with her two papillons, Zipper and Jetz. Gena and her Pomeranian, Popeye, won the AKC National Agility Invitational 8” Division in Long Beach, California, in 2010.
